The history of the company began in March 1941, when it was established as an enterprise for construction of Air Forces military facilities. In 1947 SMU Aeroportstroy became the first construction and erection authority in the system of Civil Aviation. At that time the company built most of the main buildings and special facilities of Pulkovo Airport, air terminals in Riga, Murmansk and Velikie Luki, educational and residential buildings for Academy of Civil Aviation, over 50 dwelling houses, as well as schools, medical and health-improving institutes and other social, industrial and transport units.
The construction of such multifunctional buildings allowed accumulating the experience in general contracting. The company employs high-class professionals. Many of them are awarded Government awards and titles Honorable Construction Worker of Russian Federation and Honorary Construction Worker of Russia.
In 2000 OAO Aeroportstroy received a new impulse for the development when it was put into operation ZAO Petropanel Plant for manufacturing 3-layer wall and roofing sandwich panels, which now is also a part of Industrial Construction Corporation “Pulkovo”. It allowed not only to carry out building and assembly jobs, but also to complete the construction sites with modern enclosure.
In 2003 OAO Aeroportstroy built and set into operation its own Metal Structures Plant equipped with the most advanced import machinery. Plant producing capacity is 2000 ton of metal structures per month.
Establishing of the design department with up-to-date software package, advanced CAD systems, methods and technologies significantly reduced the time of project design, put design works on the new level and saved specific quantity of metal during blueprint stage.
Highly qualified specialists, quality design and timely deliveries of structures, materials and parts from other companies of IBC “Pulkovo” Ltd help OAO Aeroportstroy to occupy the leading position in the Northwest Russia in the area of prefabricated construction.
The company has the Certificates proving its compliance with requirements of International Standard ISO 9001:2000 and IQNet International Certification Net, Licenses for construction and design of buildings and structures of I and II levels of responsibility in accordance with State Standard (see page Certificates and Licenses).

In 2006 OAO Aeroportstroy became St-Petersburg Quality Price Laureate and won the “Made in Saint-Petersburg” Industrial Competition held under the auspices of the Government of St-Petersburg.
